Party Animals World Premiere
Come hear Phil’s original songs in the world premiere production of Sarah Nolen’s Party Animals.
About the Show
Party Animals follows four furry friends as they navigate the biggest social hurdle of their young lives — throwing their first party! Meet a bunny with boundless energy, a sloth with social anxiety, a hedgehog wrestling with wrapping, and a skunk who's trying to keep everything cool and under control. Through song, dance, and original rock 'n' roll music by Boston local Phil Berman (of Puppet Playtime & The Holiday Sing-Along), these little stars discover that music can be an exuberant and healthy way to express their inner selves.
This latest Incubator world premiere comes from Sarah Nolen (Puppet Motion) — creator of Judy Saves the Day and Lisa the Wise; and our beloved Resident Artist! Party Animals balances silly antics with deeper truths, all conveyed through traditional hand puppetry performance: the life of the party!
Legendary rock star Pete Townshend once said, "Rock 'n' roll might not solve your problems, but it does let you dance all over them" — equally true for children and their grown-ups!

Pride: An Evening of Songs and Stories (Sam Newcomer EP Release Show)
Playing a night of big, queer, music to celebrate Sam Newcomer’s EP release along with songs from Space Cowboy Newt and readings from Andi Brown.

Songwriters in the Round
Four songwriters take the stage, seated in a comfortable semi-circle. They take turns playing songs, occasionally joining in with each other on harmony vocals or guitar licks. The format encourages conversation between the writers, which gives the audience an opportunity to hear these creative people talk as if in their own living rooms. Inspired by the “guitar pulls” of the legendary Bluebird Café in Nashville.
You might hear a young up-and-coming pro, an established mid-career performer and mentor, and a cherished elder of the scene — all sharing music. The growing relationships will warm your heart and enrich your soul. Come every week as the lineup shifts and new friends are made.
Hosted by Somerville singer/songwriter David Thorne Scott. Held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Donations welcome.
